Alexis was referred to the service via Business Gateway
for Stage 5 funding to gain the “Beginners PMU Training”, a Permanent Make-up course to allow her to go self-employed. She has a young family and not only realised her dream job, but is
now able to deliver her business around her home life.
She gained her qualification and has converted her Garage
into a Salon where she will be offering her services to the public. Her business is called: Miss Precision Permanent Make-up Ltd, is
advertised on Facebook, and she is taking appointments.
Alexis says:
"Having taken a huge leap of faith and walked away from my
20+ year career in Finance, to retrain in Permanent Cosmetics, I had a huge
amount to think about, to process and to organise.
Not least, finding the monies to help me realise my
dream. The biggest expense being the training I needed to set up my business.
So, I’d resolved to take out a business loan.
My Business Gateway Advisor, Caroline Duff, put me in
touch with Sheila at the EAC Employability Team.
With Sheila’s support and guidance I was granted a large
portion of my costs, which were sent straight to the training provider so I had
nothing to worry about.
Sheila worked closely with me to process my funding
request quickly, and I had it confirmation within two weeks of our first
meeting. I still can’t believe how straightforward and efficient the whole
process was.
And the great thing is that I have a significantly
reduced business loan which I can repay and clear my business start up debt
quicker than anticipated.
As a bonus, I also have Sheila’s ongoing support for the
first 6 months of trading in my new business.
Many thanks to Sheila and her team at EAC Employability
for helping me take those invaluable first steps into my new career!
